Cooking Tips

Cook your flat iron fajitas the TenderBites way. Here are some secrets to preparing this tasty dish.

  1. While flat iron steaks are already juicy, your marinade of choice will take its taste to the next level. For about ten minutes, you can soak your choice cut in spices and lemon juice. Elevate it with some heat by adding paprika and chili powder. You can also try different marinades to know which one you and your family prefer the most.
  2. Add some vinegar, citrus, or wine to your marinade for acidity, which helps tenderize the meat. As with any marinade, the longer it soaks in the solution, the more impressive the flavor.
  3. Don’t go beyond medium doneness when cooking your fajitas. Overcooking causes it to be tough. When the meat is at about 135°F, pull it off the grill or pan and let it rest. Your meat will continue to cook until it reaches your desired temperature. You can wrap it in foil to let your meat absorb the juices.
  4. Prepare your choice cut in thin slices against the grain for added tenderness. Keeping your meat slices thin also ensures you and your loved ones enjoy every bite of this savory dish.
